I was a traveler from California to Minneapolis. This restaurant made me feel satisfied and comfortable with their service, foods and drinks. Their tenderloin was pretty great! The stake was accompanied with a side dish and a salad bowl. The price was more reasonable than one I ate similar steak in California. It was a Friday night when I went there and many guests were enjoying their dinners, so we waited to be seated for a while. I suggest you should make a reservation before visiting there. I promise you can definitely have a fun time with their delicious dishes.

For $104.00 for 2 people.. I was disappointed I didn't go to Lake Elmo Inn instead. I made a reservation 6 months ago. I still had to wait for a table. I even called and confirmed the reservation at 5pm before going. For a reservation.. we got to sit in the bar? Wow. First things i noticed were... the staff seemed frazzled? Are they short staffed? Second.. other people came in after us without reservations.. they got nice booths but had to wait an hour.. Third.. the mgr was delivering the meals from the kitchen. No one seemed to care.. i guess that's what irked me. How is this place so popular? No one was attentive. Drinks were empty. No happy greetings. No thank you. Food is nothing to write home about.. steaks were over cooked. Asparagus was over cooked. I don't like over cooked veggies. The French onion soup was good. The mashed potatoes are what anyone can make in your own kitchen.. nothing special. If all the items.. i was most disappointed at the lack of desserts as well as the salad looking so sad. Bagged salads perhaps? I can't justify spending this much at Porterhouse when it's only comparable with Outback. Outback has better salads and steaks.. Take your 104 bucks somewhere else!

I am a steak snob. I have been to Manny's, Ruth Chris and several other impressive steak houses and had remarkable steaks at those places, BUT after being at Porterhouse Steak and Seafood I now will be comparing EVERYWHERE else to it. The steaks were done absolutely perfectly and presented gorgeously on the signature plate. The potato was lavishly buttered, hot and not over or under done. My wife ate scallops and the fillet and bother superseded her expectations. In fact she was more excited for the scallops than the fillet, but literally moaned with delight at the first taste of the steak. And I had steal a taste of the scallops (nearly lost my hand)... That should tell you how good the steaks and seafood is. They make signatures cocktails too - and the Makers Mark old fashioned is a must (if you're of age) (and if you like bourbon) Our server was attentive without hovering, made excellent suggestions for wine pairings, and Johnny on the spot with water refills. And the price was 1/2 of what we have paid at the other places for steaks that were simply not as good as this place. So why only 4 stars? LOUD!!! I mean - REALLY loud! Several times the laughter at the bar was loud enough that neither my wife and I could hear hear other. And, people waiting (for the bathroom or to be seated) were standing -literally leaning on my wife's booth... Not exactly the time for our intimate conversation with that dude's backside a foot from her ear) That being said, Te food trumps the noise AND there is a non-bar side (which I will request for next time!) We will return. Try this place! Best steaks I've ever had.

Went here recently for our anniversary. Had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Yeah it was Saturday but really? Olive Garden will give you a half price beer or wine if you have to wait-without a reservation. Ordered a new york strip medium rare, came out medium well. Sides were indifferent, have had better at Timberlodge. Man I miss Timberlodge. Hate Outback but maybe a better choice.

We came here for a last minute celebration and I am so glad that we did. Our steaks were superb, tender and perfectly cooked. Even the baked potato was perfect with a nice crisp/brown skin. The atmosphere is nice for a family meal or romantic date. Service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
